Software Center verification rules
Status meanings
- Candidate: a possible software entry; its source and file identity are not verified.
- Source verified: the information page was reviewed, but the package is not approved for download.
- Needs verification: one or more exact model, version, operating-system, file, signature, scan, hash or authorization fields are missing.
- Verified download: the exact model/build/OS scope, file identity, publisher/signature, dated safety scan, SHA-256, original-source URL and distribution authorization have all passed review.
- Blocked: do not use the listed source or file.
No status permits disabling antivirus, firewall or operating-system protection. A file warning must be investigated; it is not an instruction to bypass protection.
Use Report a software problem for an existing entry, or Request a software listing when no exact model match exists.
